Tiger gives birth to a lifeless cub only to have caretakers astonished when her mother’s instincts kick in

Giving birth is a miraculous event, filled with joy, excitement, and a bit of fear for many parents, human and animal alike. One such inspiring moment recently shared online was a Sumatran tiger named Kaitlyn giving birth to two cubs at the Australia Zoo.

Sumatran tigers are critically endangered, with only around 400 to 600 remaining in the wild. For this reason, the zoo caretakers closely monitored Kaitlyn, a first-time mother, ready to step in if necessary. However, Kaitlyn’s instincts kicked in when her first cub struggled to breathe. She began licking the tiny cub to stimulate its lungs, helping it breathe on its own. After a few attempts, the cub finally started breathing properly, and the birth process ended in success.
