Woman Dies In Head-On Collision But When They Took Her Phone And Saw Her Facebook Page They Were Speechless

A tragic incident unfolded on a North Carolina highway when 32-year-old Courtney Sanford lost her life in a head-on collision moments after posting a status update on Facebook. At 8:33 AM on Thursday, Sanford shared on her Facebook page, “The happy song makes me so HAPPY.” Just one minute later, at 8:34 AM, police were alerted to a crash on Interstate 85.

Sanford was driving alone when her car crossed the center line, colliding with a recycling truck. The crash caused both vehicles to catch fire, and the truck was forced off the road. Authorities confirmed that there was no evidence of speeding, drugs, or alcohol being involved in the accident.

What shocked investigators was the discovery that Sanford had posted her status and taken selfies while driving, moments before the crash. Lt. Chris Weisner from the High Point Police Department referred to the incident as a “real-life public service announcement” about the dangers of distracted driving, especially texting and taking photos behind the wheel.

Weisner added, “In a matter of seconds, a life was over just so she could notify some friends that she was happy. It’s really not worth it.” The truck driver, 73-year-old John Wallace Thompson, was unharmed.

This devastating accident serves as a sobering reminder of the importance of staying focused while driving.
